Emmerdale fans are speculating that Kev Barton's secret brother could be Caleb Miligan, after actors Chris Coghill and Will Ash hinted at a possible family connection.
Kev's Troubled Past in the Village
Kev (played by Chris Coghill) first appeared in the village in September 2025 as Robert Sugden's (Ryan Hawley) estranged husband. It was soon revealed that Kev and Robert married in prison, and Kev's arrival led to a hostage situation at The Mill with a samurai sword.
He later left but returned to build a relationship with his son, Lewis (Bradley Riches). However, matters are complicated after Lewis learns his dad attacked Billy Fletcher (Jay Kontzle) at the depot, a revelation that came to light in Tuesday's (August 11) episode.
Caleb's Revenge Plot
During the episode, Caleb Miligan (Will Ash) revealed he wanted revenge on Joe Tate (Ned Porteous) by framing him for Kev's actions.
"Joe is everything that is wrong with the world. The system's on his side. He'll never get punished, he'll just slip away like he always does. Not this time, because this time he loses," Caleb said to his wife, Ruby (Beth Cordingly). Caleb then offered to help Billy and his ex, Dawn (Olivia Bromley), escape Joe's grasp with their children.
Actors Hint at Brotherly Connection
Speaking at a recent Emmerdale event in Leeds, Chris Coghill and Will Ash joked that their characters could be brothers, having played siblings several times before. The actors have worked together for 25 years, notably as brothers in the 2006 comedy Magnolia and a 2016 episode of Moving On.
"It's the fourth time we've worked together. I'm sick of the sight of him!" Chris joked, with Will adding: "We're brothers." Will noted they haven't had many scenes together on the show, as their worlds are quite separate.
Reflecting on playing brothers and whether that could happen in Emmerdale, Chris said: "You never know!" before Will joked: "I'm probably his son!" Chris then admitted: "I'd hate to be a Tate!"
Emmerdale airs weekday nights at 8pm on ITV1 and ITVX.
