Emmerdale viewers have been left puzzled by the sudden absence of Chas Dingle, played by Lucy Pargeter, despite the ongoing murder storyline involving Al Chapman. The character has not appeared on screen for over a week, leading to confusion among fans who expected her to feature prominently in the fallout.
The ITV soap has been focusing on the aftermath of Al's murder, with Kyle Winchester revealed as the killer and Cain Dingle taking the blame. Meanwhile, the arrival of Caleb Dingle has added further tension, but Chas has been notably missing from recent episodes.
Fans took to social media to express their confusion, with one writing: 'An entire week without Chas! - I bet it won't last!' Another added: 'Just in case anyone is missing Chas.' A third commented: 'Another Chas free episode.'
Lucy Pargeter previously revealed that the Chas and Al storyline was one of the most hated in the soap's history. She said: 'People are really, really not liking them together... you've definitely got the absolute haters for Chas, and what she is doing to Paddy.'
Dominic Brunt, who plays Paddy Kirk, admitted he found filming scenes with Pargeter 'uncomfortable' due to the intense arguments. He said: 'It was uncomfortable because Lucy is my friend and screaming in her face is not very nice.'
