EastEnders: Creepy Craig Kisses Vulnerable Teen Amy in Grim New Twist
EastEnders: Craig Kisses Teen Amy in Grim New Twist

EastEnders spoilers for Wednesday's (August 26) episode reveal a disturbing development as Detective Craig Ingram (Matthew James Bailey) kisses vulnerable teen Amy Mitchell (Ellie Dadd) after inviting her for a drink. The episode, now streaming on BBC iPlayer, airs at 7:30pm.

Craig, who has been a frequent presence in Walford following the attack on Joel Marshall (Max Murray), first met Amy—daughter of colleague Jack Branning (Scott Maslen)—while interviewing teen suspects in the park. As pressure mounted, Amy confessed to Craig that she was the one who assaulted Joel.

Craig's Suspension and Manipulation

Before Craig could report Amy's confession, he was suspended from his position and removed from the Joel case after a complaint was made against him. DS Reynolds confirmed Craig was being investigated for gross misconduct over 'engaging in inappropriate relationships with a female officer'.

Rather than revealing his suspension, Craig told Amy he had decided to keep her secret to protect her. Grateful Amy was told to come to him should she need anything, setting the stage for further manipulation.

The Kiss at Container Junction

Earlier this week, the pair crossed paths again at Gaming Grounds after Amy was rejected by Denzel Danes (Jaden Ladega). Craig dismissed her friends as 'kids', called her an 'old soul', and invited her for a drink. Amy initially hesitated but agreed, insisting she could get served alcohol.

At Container Junction, Amy ordered a gin and soda single, but Craig ordered a double. As Amy opened up about her struggles, Craig suggested one more drink. Leaving the venue, Craig told Amy he cares about her—and she reciprocated—before he leaned in for a kiss.

What Happens Next?

The question remains: what is Craig up to? Is Amy in danger, and how will Jack react when he finds out—especially given his wife Denise Fox's (Diane Parish) recent diagnosis?

EastEnders airs Mondays to Thursdays at 7:30pm on BBC One, or streams from 6am on BBC iPlayer.
