EastEnders has finally revealed who attacked Joel Marshall (Max Murray), with Amy Mitchell (Ellie Dadd) confessing to the crime in Thursday’s (August 13) episode, now streaming on BBC iPlayer.
The confession came after Amy, reeling from Denzel Danes (Jaden Ladega) and Avani Nandra-Hart’s (Aaliyah James) revelation that they were together during the attack, clashed with her dad Jack (Scott Maslen) and turned to alcohol. At McKlunkeys, she met DC Craig Ingram (Matthew James Bailey) and admitted she was the one who attacked Joel with a hammer.
Attack and Investigation
Joel was attacked with a hammer last month and left for dead, 45 minutes after being tied up by a group of local teens. The teens wanted to teach him a lesson for his actions towards Avani and Vicki Fowler (Alice Haig). A police investigation was launched, with DC Craig Ingram leading the case.
Ricky’s (Frankie Day) bike lock was used to restrain Joel, prompting Amy to question Craig about the investigation, but he revealed little. Lily Slater (Lillia Turner) had confessed to freeing Joel before the attack, while Denzel and Avani’s alibi ruled them out.
Confession and Aftermath
Amy’s confession left Craig reeling. He is already worried that withholding video footage of the teens restraining Joel could backfire. The question now is whether he will report Amy’s confession and arrest her, potentially leading to prison, or if she will escape consequences.
