Aaron Thiara, who has played Ravi Gulati on EastEnders since 2022, is reportedly set to leave the BBC One soap after four years. The actor, 33, will remain on set until the end of the year to complete his character's current storylines.
A Popular Character's Journey
Ravi was introduced as an inmate Phil Mitchell encountered in prison. He became a regular shortly after, arriving in Walford to start fresh post-release. Over the years, he became central to the Square, featuring in storylines that revealed him as the secret son of Nish Panesar, and later killing both Nish and his abusive adoptive father Ranveer.
His ex-partner Priya Nandra-Hart and daughter Avani, played by Sophie Khan Levy and Aaliyah James, provided significant material. His romance with Denise Fox, portrayed by Diane Parish, was also a key storyline.
Exit Reports and Future Plans
Earlier this year, Ravi was sectioned amid mental health struggles, with Thiara's performance receiving praise. He returned to the Square and is set to propose to Priya next week. However, according to The Sun, Thiara will leave at the end of the year.
A source told the publication: 'Aaron has been at the centre of some of the soaps biggest storylines since his arrival as bad-boy Ravi back in 2022. He's an incredibly popular member of the cast and the fans love him. He's decided to focus on new projects, but will stay on set until the end of the year to see out some juicy storylines his character has in store.'
Metro has contacted EastEnders for comment. The nature of Ravi's exit remains unclear, but recent scenes show him trying to uncover who Priya has been having an affair with.
