David Haye has been criticised for his behaviour during I'm a Celebrity... South Africa, with former campmate Ashley Roberts revealing she confronted him over his language. The Pussycat Dolls star, who appeared on the spin-off alongside Haye, told ITV's This Morning that she challenged the boxer, but the scenes were not broadcast.
Speaking to hosts Cat Deeley and Ben Shephard, Roberts said: 'There are points where I did confront him because I thought some of his language was quite shocking. But I don't know if that's going to make the edit or not. We all tried to plant seeds in different ways of thinking or trying to understand where he was coming from. But it was shocking.'
Roberts also addressed Haye's comments on Heart Radio Breakfast, where she described his language as 'outrageous'. She said she did not recall that side of him from their original series together in 2012. Haye has faced backlash for remarks about his girlfriend, Sian, suggesting she had an 'ugly bird' personality, and for branding Adam Thomas 'useless' for declining a Bushtucker Trial due to a medical condition.
In response to Haye's comments, Adam Thomas said the boxer 'broke him' and 'pushed him to his limits', but added that Haye had since apologised. Hosts Ant McPartlin and Declan Donnelly described Haye's behaviour as an 'uncomfortable watch'.
