New Coronation Street star Anya Dewin has declared her love for one of her co-stars as they were seen sharing their first scene together in the long-running show.
Those who follow the ITV soap, which is filmed in Salford, will have seen the actress make her debut earlier this month, when viewers were introduced to Lucy Parkinson, which came following the unexpected arrival of her dad, Richie Parkinson, in Weatherfield.
Earlier this month, after reuniting with Tim during a cab fare, Richie stayed the night at Tim and his wife Sally's house after a row with his wife, Rachel. However, Sally wasn't happy about him sleeping on their sofa and instructed Tim to get him back home.
Richie's arrest and Lucy's arrival
Tim advised Richie to try to sort things out with Rachel, so he headed home, but he accidentally left his wallet behind. When Tim returned later on, he was left in shock as he saw Richie's shirt covered in blood, and then he made the horrifying discovery of Rachel's lifeless body.
The next time we saw a shocked Sally and Tim following a sleepless night, they were visited by DS Lisa Connor-Swain, who called round and confirmed that they had charged Richie with the murder of his wife.
It was confirmed that Richie's daughter, Lucy, would be placed in temporary foster care. But when her placement fell through, Tim went behind Sally's back and organised a meeting with the social worker, saying he and his wife would take her in, as they had done with the Michaelis children - Brody, Joanie and Shanice.
But it's clear that Lucy is troubled, having lashed out on several occasions, and her behaviour is proving more than Sally and Tim can handle.
Off-screen friendship
During Wednesday's (August 26) episode of Corrie, Lucy flew off the handle again, this time with Joanie about their parents being in prison. As Sally and Tim intervened, Lucy admitted she wanted her dad and was eventually granted a phone call, during which she said she hated both Sally and Tim.
But off-screen, new co-stars Anya and Savanna Pennington, who plays Joanie, seem to be getting on like a house on fire. Sharing a selfie of the pair with Corrie icon Sally Dynevor, Savanna wrote on Instagram: "Welcome Anya [heart emoji]. Our first pic together. So much fun filming with my faves."
Anya was quick to respond, commenting on the post: "AHHHHH LOVE YOU SAV!!!" before joking: "That popcorn was amazing [crying laughing emoji]," referring to the popcorn Lucy threw over Joanie in the previously-mentioned scenes.
Support from co-stars
Anya has also been shown support by a number of her other Corrie co-stars. Actor Tony Maudsley, who plays Weatherfield's George Shuttleworth, took to Instagram with a snap featuring the pair and some of their fellow castmates when her first scenes aired in the show earlier this month.
He captioned the post: "It's a HUGE day for our new girl on the cobbles @anyadewinx. Not only did she storm her A' Level results this morning...it's also her first appearance on screen with us lot tonight as Lucy Parkinson (we'll need eyes in the backs of our heads with this one!) Fasten your seatbelts!! Welcome aboard the crazy train, Anya [heart emoji] #Corrie."
Sally Dynevor, who plays namesake Sally and featured in the group photo, was among those to respond to the post, as she commented: "She’s just wonderful [love heart eyes emojis]," while Christina Boyd, actress Amy Robbins, replied: "There she is [heart emojis]." Sue Devaney, who plays Debbie Webster, also gushed in response: "She’s wonderful and so talented."
