Corrie fans think Lucy Fallon leaked Sarah's exit in photo

Coronation Street fans think Lucy Fallon may have leaked a major spoiler about Sarah Platt's fate. The actress, who plays Bethany Platt, posted a photo on Instagram with co-star Tina O'Brien, who plays her onscreen mother Sarah. Some viewers took this as a sign that Sarah will be released from prison soon.

Murder twist and court case

In recent episodes, Sarah confessed to accidentally killing villain Theo Silverton. She was arrested and charged, and now faces a court case from prison. The storyline has left fans guessing whether Sarah will be freed or face a longer sentence.

Lucy's photo showed her and Tina together on the set of the ITV soap. Since location pictures had earlier revealed the cast filming court scenes, fans speculated that the snap was taken after the court case, suggesting Sarah would be cleared. However, the photo may not be a spoiler at all.

Fans divided over photo meaning

Some viewers noted that the prison set is close to where the photo was taken, so Sarah could still be in prison. Others pointed out that some cast and crew were on set on Wednesday, when the selfie was posted, to enjoy the solar eclipse together. This means the pair may not have been filming at all—they could simply have been hanging out.

Even if they were filming that day, the photo gives nothing away, as it just shows the co-stars sitting together. Sarah's fate remains unknown, and the storyline's conclusion has yet to be revealed.

Actress previously teased storyline

Tina O'Brien had earlier spoken about the murder twist. She said: "Some of the cast got told that they were involved in the storyline, but they weren't the murderer. So by the time it got to me to go for my meeting, I was a bit like, I think it's me! But I genuinely didn't worry, at the end of the day this job is incredible, but to be an actor is not necessarily a job for life. So, I just was really excited to be given the honour of being the murderer, and then hopefully, however it plays out, I’ll enjoy Sarah's arc."

Coronation Street airs weeknights at 8:30pm on ITV1 and ITV X.
