Coronation Street aired dramatic scenes this evening as Eva Price (Catherine Tyldesley) identified her attacker, Carl Webster (Jonathan Howard) was taken in for questioning, and Jodie Ramsey (Olivia Frances-Brown) confronted her dad. After Debbie Webster’s (Sue Devaney) chat with Kit Green (Jacob Roberts), Carl became the prime suspect in Eva’s attack and the target of Ben Driscoll’s (Aaron McCusker) wrath.
Little did any of them know, Sam Blakeman (Jude Riordan) was battling with his guilt as the actual culprit, and when he visited Eva in hospital, she suddenly remembered that he had pushed her. Elsewhere, Lucy Parkinson (Anya Dewin) continued to cause trouble for Tim Metcalfe (Joe Duttine) when she stole money from his wallet to go out with her friends and failed to show any remorse. Meanwhile, Jodie faked a cancelled date to spend time with David Platt (Jack P Shepherd) as part of her scheme to get revenge on sister Shona Platt (Julia Goulding), but she faced a hurdle in the form of Doug Ramsey (Steve Evets).
What Happens Next on Thursday, October 1?
Christina is in turmoil over Rachel’s death and attempts to get information out of Tim after she overhears him talking to Lisa Connor-Swain (Vicky Myers) about their conversation about Richie and Lucy. When Tim suggests that the whole situation may not be as simple as clear cut as they thought, Todd Grimshaw (Gareth Pierce) listens in with interest. Later, alone at the undertaker’s, Christina finally confides in Todd.
Carl continues to protest his innocence after being accused of pushing Eva, and he tries to confide in Debbie. However, when it becomes clear she had no idea what he’s talking about, he tries to mask his concern. Meanwhile, someone overhears Ben telling Kevin Webster (Michael Le Vell) that the police are in the dark when it comes to Eva’s attacker, but the truth is finally revealed when someone confesses – will it be Sam?
Sam’s Secret Debt and Jodie’s Scheme
Speaking of Sam, the youngster breaks down and admits that he’s been using a credit card he took out in Nick Tilsley’s (Ben Price) name to trade cryptocurrency and is now over £6k in debt. Leanne Battersby (Jane Danson), Toyah Battersby (Georgia Taylor) and Nick are left reeling.
Down the street, Jodie impresses Shona when she arrives home with a bunch of flowers from her ‘date’, but Shona later learns from Mary Taylor (Patti Clare) that Jodie bought them for herself. When Shona tells David, he confirms that Jodie’s date cancelled when she was in the salon. Later, Jodie rummages through Doug’s belongings, finds his antipsychotic medication and swaps it out for ordinary painkillers.
Lisa’s College Interview
Elsewhere, Lisa accompanies Betsy Swain (Sydney Martin) to her college interview, but will she be ready to take this next step so soon after her stroke?
