Coronation Street: Jodie snares Kit in worst mistake yet

Coronation Street's DC Kit Green (Jacob Roberts) is set to make his worst mistake yet as Jodie Ramsey (Olivia Frances-Brown) moves in on him, despite clear warnings about her dangerous behaviour.

The Cobbles copper has already found himself in serious hot water thanks to his choice in women, namely Sarah Platt (Tina O'Brien), who is now in prison for the murder of Theo Silverton (James Cartwright) despite his best efforts to help her evade justice. Kit did all he could to make evidence linking Sarah to the killing disappear, but he was none too pleased to discover that on the night Theo died, it was her ex Gary Windass (Mikey North) that Sarah called for help.

Jodie's history of schemes

With Sarah behind bars, her relationship with Kit has fallen apart. Enter Jodie, who only moved to Coronation Street this year but is already synonymous with elaborate schemes, bizarre motives and Fatal Attraction-style fun. She previously tried and failed to sabotage her half-sister Shona Platt (Julia Goulding) by attempting to seduce David Platt (Jack P Shepherd), and she is responsible for assaulting Sarah to stop her from uncovering a creepy box of stolen trinkets, which also contained a gun.

Given that Sarah has already shared that fact with Kit, one would think the unhinged Miss Ramsey would be the last person he would go for. Think again.

Jodie makes her move

In upcoming episodes, Kit is propositioned by the bunny-boiling baddy herself. With David away, Shona struggles to soothe Harper and is short with Lily (Grace Ashford-Gardner), while Jodie interferes. As Jodie litter picks, she overhears Bethany Platt (Lucy Fallon) arranging a date. Jodie makes a scathing remark but Bethany puts her in her place.

Smarting, Jodie suggests to Kit they should go on a date and promises him the time of his life. Bethany meets up with her date, Roman, in the bistro and they raise a toast to a successful second date without drama. But their good mood evaporates when Jodie enters with Kit. Bethany explains that her mum is in prison and only broke up with Kit a few weeks ago.

Warnings ignored

As Jodie flirts with Kit, Bethany loses her temper and warns him that Jodie is toxic and he should steer clear. As Bethany goes, Jodie invites Kit back for a nightcap. Later that week, Jodie adds to Shona's stress by hiding her car keys, smiling to herself, and sends Kit a message asking to hang out.

Shona calls David about her nightmare day, then suddenly realises she has left Harper in the car. In a blind panic, she dashes outside to find Daniel cradling Harper. Jodie orders Shona to get some sleep and invites Kit round as she looks after Harper. Shona comes back downstairs to find Jodie and Kit enjoying a glass of wine. Parking herself on the sofa, she warns Kit that a relationship with her sister is possibly his worst idea ever. Will Kit listen?
