Coronation Street fans are convinced they've figured out what Kit Green is hiding on the cobbles. The police officer has been at the centre of a new mystery after receiving a serious-sounding phone call from a woman, which he hung up on before listening to the full voice message.
The storyline comes after Kit's girlfriend Sarah Platt was arrested and imprisoned for the murder of Theo Silverton. Earlier this year, Sarah struck Theo with a metal pipe during a confrontation, causing him to fall from scaffolding to his death. In a panic, Sarah asked her former partner Gary Windass to help conceal the crime, and he agreed.
Sarah later admitted to killing Theo but kept Gary's name out of it, failing to reveal his involvement. This enraged Kit, who knew Gary was implicated. After warning Gary to tell the truth, Gary surrendered to police and revealed everything, leaving Sarah furious that Kit went behind her back. She emotionally ended their relationship, telling Kit she loves him but that they are finished because she won't let him destroy his career over her.
Mystery Phone Call
In scenes aired on Tuesday and Thursday, viewers saw a heartbroken Kit receive a call from a woman, but he hung up. He then turned to alcohol, drinking heavily in the Bistro and Victoria Gardens, alarming local residents. At the end of Tuesday's episode, Kit rang the woman back, leaving a message confirming his name and saying he would be there.

Taking to social media, viewers speculated about what Kit is hiding. One person said: "Is Kit sick? The person referred to him as his full name then when he called back it was a business with opening hours. Him saying he'll be there could be him confirming an appointment? I get the vibe he may have been drinking to avoid more than just his breakup with Sarah!"
Another replied: "I think it will be to do with Paul and the MND perhaps he needs a test and he is nervous. I honestly think this is just an excuse for him and Bethany to get closer."
A different fan wrote: "I think there's more to it but not sure what. Sarah only broke up with him the day before and he seemed a mess so doubt he'd have had time to apply for a new job in that space of time. Maybe he's ill and that's another reason he's drinking. Seemed official to call him Christopher and not Kit or DC Green."
