Neil Poynter, a 61-year-old TikTok personality known for his 'SingleAtSixty' series, has claimed that his date with Coleen Nolan on the E4 show Celebs Go Dating was heavily edited and cut short. Poynter appeared on the programme after a casting producer discovered his social media content.
In a TikTok clip, Poynter said: 'Really interesting watching last night and the fact that they must have had a total of an hour and a half video of me from the pre-interview, post-interview and the date itself, and what do we get about 3 minutes total on screen.' He added that his reaction to Nolan's question about whether he had ever killed anyone was edited to appear more dramatic than it actually was.
Poynter explained: 'What actually happened is I almost immediately laughed and went straight into the story... So that was quite heavily edited.' Despite requesting a second meeting, Nolan did not reciprocate, describing Poynter as 'a really nice man' but admitting she felt no 'connection' or 'attraction'.
Nolan, 61, joined the show after two unsuccessful marriages and the end of her last public relationship in 2023. On her podcast, she described the experience as 'one of the hardest' due to long filming days, but said the dating side was 'an absolute disaster'. Celebs Go Dating airs weeknights on E4 and is available on Channel 4 online.
