Jeremy Clarkson was left utterly astounded during the latest episode of ITV's new quiz show, Millionaire Hot Seat, when a contestant who admitted to 'knowing nothing' walked away with a staggering £10,000 prize.
A Game of Fast Passes and Lucky Guesses
The new series, which aired its Friday night instalment on 9th January 2026, features a revamped format with six players rotating through a 'hot seat'. Each contestant has just 15 seconds to answer and only one 'pass' to use instead of the traditional lifelines.
Contestant Daisy Kilbey made immediate use of her pass, skipping her first question so quickly that host Clarkson quipped she had 'barely warmed up' the chair. After cycling through the other players, Daisy found herself back in the hot seat for the final question of the night, facing a choice between going home with £1,000 or risking it for £10,000.
'A Stab in the Dark' Pays Off Big
When presented with the crucial question, Daisy openly confessed to Clarkson that she 'didn't have a clue' and that her answer would be 'a stab in the dark'. Against all odds, her guess was correct.
A visibly shocked Clarkson declared to the winner: "You are the luckiest human being alive. You've known nothing, and you are leaving here with £10,000." Daisy herself laughed in disbelief, admitting earlier in the show: "I've really not earned it!"
Viewers React to the New Format
The launch week of Millionaire Hot Seat has garnered a mixed reaction from ITV audiences. While some celebrated Daisy's unexpected win, others expressed confusion and criticism about the new structure.
One viewer questioned the format online, stating: "Does anyone actually understand what the game is, it seems an over engineered attempt at reinvention." Another commented on the difficulty, saying: "It's almost impossible to win anything significant." However, many were delighted for Daisy, with one social media user simply writing: "£10k richer! Wild guesses do pay off!"
The show, fronted by Jeremy Clarkson, marks a distinct departure from the classic Who Wants to Be a Millionaire? series and is available to stream on ITVX.
