Cipriani, McCord received death threats over wedding crowdfunding

AnnaLynne McCord has revealed that she and fiancé Danny Cipriani received death threats for using a "registry platform" to crowdfund towards their wedding.

The 90210 actress, 39, and former England rugby star, 38, used online crowdfunding site Honeyfund, asking guests to donate money instead of gifts so it could go towards flowers, catering and a wedding cake. The amounts were non-specific and ranged from £7 to over £3,000.

'Disgusting' donors and death threats

Speaking about the ordeal in a recent interview, AnnaLynne recalled: "I was told I was despicable — and that I was trying to extort money from my wedding guests."

"People actually donated ten dollars towards the wedding so they could write on the site that Danny and I were disgusting. There were even death threats."

The TV star explained to the Sun on Sunday: "Everyone was asking what they could give us. I was like, I have five blenders. I have everything for my home. I’m getting married at 39. I don’t need another item. I am very blessed."

"We wrote on the wedding invite that in lieu of gifts we would love to feel our guests’ contributions in the flowers, music and photography on our big day."

"I didn’t know that it was an open link until a co-star at work asked me: ‘Are you crowdfunding for your wedding?’"

Three weddings and a honeymoon

Aside from their intimate wedding in America, which will take place in the couple's back garden, they are also planning two more weddings in London and Cambodia.

The UK ceremony is due to the fact their US wedding was planned at short notice, meaning some of Danny's loved ones are not able to make it. This will then be followed by a traditional Cambodian wedding.

For their honeymoon, the couple are set to fly to Egypt before easing themselves back into reality as husband and wife.

It seems starting a family is not in the distant future as she teased that they are already planning on a "house full of kids", as Danny was an only child and wants to enjoy a large family.

AnnaLynne had also starred in the hit medical TV show Nip/Tuck and Days of our Lives. The pair met on celebrity dating app Raya in 2016.

After an on again and off again four year romance, they briefly split in 2020 before reuniting in 2024.
