Reality television star Charlotte Crosby has disclosed the surprising incident that made her mother perfectly accepting of her famously wild behaviour on the hit MTV show Geordie Shore. The revelation came during a candid interview on This Morning, where she explained that a run-in with the police actually served to calm her down in her mother's eyes.
The Revelation on This Morning
Appearing on the ITV programme to promote her new series, Geordie Stories: Charlotte Mam of Two, Crosby reflected on her chaotic time on the reality show that first aired in 2011. She confessed to hosts Ben Shephard and Cat Deeley that her antics included partying in nothing but 'Primark knickers' and asserted that no television programme will ever match the sheer wildness of Geordie Shore.
When questioned by the hosts about whether she would allow her own daughters to appear on a similar show, Charlotte was unequivocal. 'Thankfully, there will never be a show like Geordie Shore again,' she stated. 'It'll never be as wild.'
Why Her Mother Was 'Alright' With The Chaos
The conversation took a surprising turn when Shephard and Deeley inquired about her mother's perspective on the raucous series. Contrary to expectations, Crosby revealed that her mum was 'alright' with her participation. The reason? Her off-camera life was even more tumultuous.
'She was alright [with Geordie Shore] because I was much worse off-camera,' Charlotte explained, amusing the presenters. When their curiosity was piqued about what she was like away from the lens, she warned them, 'You don't even want to know,' before hinting at the pivotal reason for her mother's acceptance.
The Drunk and Disorderly Police Encounter
Crosby then disclosed the key detail that contextualised her mother's stance. 'There was run ins with the police and everything,' she shared. 'Only drunk and disorderly though.'
She elaborated that this specific incident, and others like it, were the real catalysts for her mother's supportive attitude towards the structured environment of the television show. 'She said that Geordie Shore calmed us down,' Charlotte revealed, suggesting that the controlled chaos of filming was a stabilising influence compared to her untelevised life.
Charlotte Crosby was an original cast member of Geordie Shore from its inception in 2011 and featured in a remarkable 12 series, with her final appearance airing in 2024. Her tenure on the show was marked by some of its most memorable and explosive moments, including a infamous catfight with co-star Marnie Simpson, attempts to get Gaz Beadle to cheat on his girlfriend, and several scenes where she urinated on camera.
Since her departure, she has fronted several of her own series, such as Aussie Shores and Charlotte in Sunderland, building a successful career beyond the show that first made her a household name.
