The Celebrity Traitors is returning to BBC One and iPlayer for a second series, and a first look has revealed host Claudia Winkleman leading a silent funeral scene with the new cast. In the preview, Claudia stands at the front of a church before the assembled celebrities and declares: "A moment of silence, for the celebrities gathered today."
The camera then sweeps around to reveal the full cast seated in the pews facing the presenter. Claudia adds: "Thoughts and prayers" before striding through the church doors while the theme tune plays dramatically.
Star-studded cast assembles in the Scottish Highlands
The celebrity contestants have gathered in the Scottish Highlands, where they will need to determine who among them can be trusted and who is covertly scheming against the group. The line-up for the second series includes Amol Rajan, Bella Ramsey, James Acaster, James Blunt, Jerry Hall, Joanne McNally, Joe Lycett, Julie Hesmondhalgh, King Kenny, Leigh-Anne Pinnock and Maya Jama.
They are joined by Michael Sheen, Miranda Hart, Myha'la, Professor Hannah Fry, Richard E. Grant, Rob Beckett, Romesh Ranganathan, Ross Kemp, Sebastian Croft and Sharon Rooney. The roster mixes comedians, actors, broadcasters, musicians and TV personalities for the unpredictable contest.
Claudia Winkleman returns to oversee the game
Claudia will again supervise as the famous faces try to work out who is playing genuinely and who has been covertly enlisted as a Traitor. The series promises the same combination of sleuthing, treachery and faith that made the celebrity edition a success when it first launched.
The Celebrity Traitors series two is arriving soon on BBC One and iPlayer, though a precise broadcast date has not been confirmed. The second series will comprise 10 episodes, each running 60 minutes, and is produced by Studio Lambert Scotland for BBC One and BBC iPlayer.
