Former Big Brother star Aisleyne Horgan Wallace, 47, was rushed to hospital after being bitten and mauled by an XL Bully dog in a horrifying attack. The reality TV icon shared details on Instagram, revealing she will be left with scars for life on her shoulder after the bite exposed bone.
Details of the Attack
In an Instagram post, Horgan Wallace shared a photo of herself bandaged up and sitting with a friend, writing: "I've been bitten by an XL Bully!!!!! You can see my f bone thank god fro my girl." Alongside another snap with her own dog, she pleaded for followers to be careful: "The few mins before he bit me... Everyone knows I'm a dog mummy. I love dogs. This dog loved me, then for a split second for no reason he didn't…"
Warning to Dog Owners
She continued: "Please please please understand how to raise and how these babies can switch. I'm in agony and scarred for life." In a separate post, she added: "Thankful it wasn't my neck or face… Sad I'm scarred for life. Glad it wasn't a child and it was me… So conflicted." Horgan Wallace also warned that "the heat is dangerous" for dogs and reiterated that she feels "lucky in this instance."
Legal Context
In December 2023, legislation was introduced in the UK making it unlawful to breed, sell, or abandon XL Bully dogs in England and Wales. Owning an unregistered XL Bully became illegal in February 2024.
