Great British Bake Off stars Paul Hollywood and Nigella Lawson have revealed that they are sometimes ordered to leave the tent by floor manager Mandy during filming of the 2026 series.
The pair appeared in their first TV interview together on Tuesday, September 29, on The One Show, speaking to hosts Alex Jones and Roman Kemp. During the conversation about the latest series, they opened up about getting into “trouble”.
Giggling fits on set
Paul Hollywood, famed for his Hollywood Handshakes, explained: “It’s the giggling.
“Occasionally, Nigella will say something or Alison [Hammond] or Noel [Fielding] will say something or one of the bakers will say something.
“And we get the giggles and floor manager Mandy, who you may know, will just say ‘get out’ and we have to walk out of the tent for five minutes.”

Nigella then shared a moment where the famous four had to shoot but claims Alison said “Paul can you get out because you’re putting me off with those faces”.
Paul remarked how the This Morning host “couldn’t look at us” when they were filming and they had to “sit outside the tent” as she tried to say her lines.
“It’s so awful because you get in a panic and then I get the giggles and I was trying to hold it in.
“It does happen, I did feel bad but you know how it is, you try not to get the giggles and when it matters, you get frightened about it.”
Biscuit week challenges
Tonight is biscuit week with the bakers tasked with creating an American-style cookie for the signature challenge before creating a “nostalgic classic” for the technical.
Then it was all eyes on the showstopper as they had to bake a “visually striking biscuit mosaic”, testing their artistic flair as well as their baking credentials.
