Danni became the first baker eliminated from The Great British Bake Off 2026 during Biscuit Week, which aired on Tuesday, September 29. The HGV service centre administrator from Dorset was competing alongside 11 other bakers, hoping to impress judges Nigella Lawson and Paul Hollywood, with hosts Alison Hammond and Noel Fielding.
Danni's Emotional Farewell
After her elimination, Danni addressed her fellow contestants, saying: “Thank you so much, it’s been so lovely with all of you, it has! I am really happy that I was the first one out because I know everyone in there is more skilled than me. But I think I’ve learned something about myself, which is that in the right circumstances I can make quite a few friends. Finding love in a group of strangers – that’s just beautiful.”
Speaking on the Channel 4 spin-off programme Second Helpings with Jon Richardson and Judi Love, Danni recalled her final showstopper piece, a laptop infected with a virus. She revealed that “everyone on the internet” would be yelling at her for mistaking LoveLetter.TXT.VBS with the typo VSB, admitting: “I made that mistake.”
How Danni Got on the Show
Danni previously revealed that she had applied to Bake Off “on a whim.” She told the BBC: "It's actually quite a funny story. I applied for the Bake Off on a whim. You know when you bring a baked good to any sort of function and they're like 'you should totally go on Bake Off', no matter how good the actual bake is? I got sick of people telling me that so I was like 'fine, I'll apply' and then I'll get rejected and then I'll be like 'well, I tried, oh dear'. But that didn't happen."
She also told BBC Radio Solent's Dorset Breakfast that she’d “bake anything and everything,” adding: "I'll make sausage rolls one week and the next week it'll be some sort of croquembouche."
