The jungle is heating up as I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here! continues its 2024 run, delivering the steamy showers, emotional confessions, and gruesome Bushtucker Trials that fans eagerly anticipate. Kicking off on November 16, the show has already provided plenty of drama, and the action shows no sign of slowing down.
Third Time's The Charm: Ginge Takes on the World
This Sunday night, viewers will see popular YouTuber Angry Ginge, whose real name is Morgan Burtwistle, face his third challenge of the series. The trial, dubbed 'Terror Flying Tours', will see hosts Ant and Dec send the 24-year-old on a frantic simulated trip around the world.
A teaser clip released on Sunday morning set the scene, showing the red-headed star shoving his head into a mystery box teeming with unexpected creatures. As he glanced at the snakes surrounding him, Dec quizzed him, 'Any idea where you are now?'
Never one to miss a beat, Angry Ginge quipped, 'Not Bradford?' The joke prompted a burst of laughter from the presenting duo, with Dec clarifying, 'Close, it's the Amazon Rainforest.' To which the YouTuber swiftly replied, 'That was my second guess.'
A Trial of Technique and Trouble
Ant then laid out the task's objective: 'Right, you've got two minutes to get the stars along the slot and out.' As the buzzer sounded, Angry Ginge got to work, with snakes ominously closing in on him.
Dec observed his technique, commenting, 'He's better at sliding than he is at spinning.' He continued to offer encouragement, 'Good technique, yes - get them as far as you can and pop your head out and into the other box.'
However, disaster soon struck in a moment of pure comedy. As Angry Ginge moved to enter another slot, he smacked his head and yelped, 'Ow, my head. That's not even part of the trial.' Dec couldn't resist a wry quip, 'Don't bang your head,' to which the campmate dryly responded, 'Cheers.'
The Secret World of Celebrity Codenames
Beyond the on-screen antics, it has been revealed that ITV bosses went to great lengths to keep this year's celebrity line-up under wraps. As is tradition, producers assigned secret codenames to the campmates to disguise their identities before the official announcement.
According to reports, Angry Ginge was given the codename 'Spicy'. This clever moniker is a nod to both his fiery red hair and the fact that ginger is, of course, a spice. With the YouTuber rumoured to be one of the highest-paid stars of the 2024 series, allegedly earning around £100,000, producers were particularly keen to keep his involvement top-secret.
A source told The Sun: 'They have come up with some great ones over the years, which always keep people guessing. Ginge’s codename is particularly fitting — as he’s ITV’s secret ingredient to spice things up and bring in new viewers this year.'
