Amy Dowden has made a 'promise' to fans ahead of her debut on Celebrity Gogglebox, where she will reunite with Strictly Come Dancing co-star Carlos Gu. The 35-year-old professional dancer, who returned to the BBC ballroom in 2025 after treatment for breast cancer, confirmed the pair will appear on the Channel 4 show on Friday, June 26.
Dowden and Gu Join Celebrity Gogglebox
Dowden, a Strictly regular since 2017, took a break in 2023 due to a breast cancer diagnosis, undergoing chemotherapy and two mastectomies. She made a full return in 2025, partnering with The Apprentice star Tom Skinner. Gu, who joined Strictly in 2022, won the glitterball trophy in the latest series alongside former footballer Karen Carney.
Both are confirmed to return to Strictly later this year, but before that, they will appear on Celebrity Gogglebox. Dowden shared her excitement on Instagram, writing: 'Tomorrow we make our debut on @c4gogglebox 9pm @channel4. I promise you @gkx_carlos was his honest, true legendary self! So excited and grateful for this opportunity.'
Carlos Gu Admits 'I've Said Too Much'
Gu reshared Gogglebox's post on his Instagram Story, admitting: '9pm tonite, make sure you tune in. I'm afraid I've said too much lol.' Dowden responded: 'Yes darling you did! Haha can't wait. Tune in tonight.'
The pair's appearance marks their first joint TV project outside of Strictly, and fans are eager to see their on-screen chemistry. Dowden's promise of Gu's 'true legendary self' suggests the episode will feature candid and humorous moments.
