Aitch, the rapper whose real name is Harrison Armstrong, has revealed that he came close to walking out of the I'm A Celebrity...Get Me Out of Here! jungle on several occasions. Speaking after his eviction, he admitted that he was 'dying to do a runner' and even considered telling producers he needed to leave.
He described the middle part of the series as the toughest, saying: 'You've come too far to give up now, but there's still ages to go.' He found it difficult to have no time alone, noting that any attempt to have a private moment was hampered by the knowledge of cameras recording him.
The mornings were particularly challenging for the rapper, as he often woke up later than his campmates. 'Some people have already been up for three hours, and the chat is at an all-time high,' he said. In contrast, he felt at his best at night when the camp was calmer and food was on its way.
Aitch also disclosed that he knew fellow contestant Ginge (Dean McCullough) was entering the jungle before the show began, as they had spoken through a mutual friend. The pair agreed that whichever one of them remained would 'take this crown back to Manchester'.
