David Tennant & Georgia Moffett Glam Up for BAFTA Scotland Amid Death Threats
Tennants at BAFTA Scotland After Reporting Death Threats

Doctor Who star David Tennant and his wife, actress Georgia Moffett, presented a united and glamorous front at the 2025 BAFTA Scotland Awards in Glasgow on Sunday evening. Their stylish red carpet appearance came just after the couple revealed they have been forced to involve the police due to a series of disturbing death threats made against them on social media.

A Striking Scottish Showcase

The actor, 54, proudly celebrated his heritage, opting for a traditional black plaid kilt for the prestigious event. He accessorised the kilt with a red pin on the edge and a leather, tasselled sporran in black and silver. Tennant completed his sophisticated Highland look with a structured black blazer adorned with silver gemstones, a crisp white shirt, black knee-high socks, and classic lace-up leather boots.

By his side, Georgia Moffett, 40, looked effortlessly chic in a sparkling black gown with long sleeves. She complemented her elegant dress with a pair of large silver earrings and carried a matching silver clutch bag. The couple, who have been married since 2011, coordinated their ensembles perfectly in matching dark, glamorous attire.

A Shadow Over the Celebration

Despite the evening's celebrations, a dark cloud hung over the occasion. Their outing followed the alarming news that the pair have again been targeted by online abuse. Georgia was forced to contact the Metropolitan Police after receiving a new wave of vile death threats on Instagram, just weeks after a stalker had reportedly offered a reward for her murder.

Earlier this month, the mother-of-five took to her Instagram Stories to share distressing screenshots of the abusive messages. In the posts, she was branded with horrific misogynistic slurs and told she deserved to 'die for good'. One message cruelly referred to her as the 'ex-wife of David Tennant', despite their very much active marriage, while others called her 'disgusting' and demanded she 'return to the streets'.

In a desperate plea for intervention, Georgia directly tagged both the Metropolitan Police and Instagram on the posts. This is not the first time the family has faced such terror. Back in September, Georgia revealed she had a stalker who had used social media to offer a reward to anyone who would kill her, sharing one specific threat that read: 'Whoever kills Georgia Tennant immediately will receive a reward from me.'

Family Life Amidst the Turmoil

The couple, who first met in 2008 when Georgia played the Doctor's daughter, Jenny, in the BBC series, now share five children together: Olive, 14; Wilfred, 12; Doris, 10; and five-year-old Birdie. Georgia also has a 23-year-old son, Ty, from a previous relationship.

Despite the ongoing security concerns, the pair continue to show a strong public front. Earlier this year, Georgia shared a sweet tribute to her husband to mark 17 years since they began dating, gushing about her 'kind, funny and relentlessly generous' spouse. She did, however, lovingly poke fun at him for remaining 'Bafta-less' after he missed out on a win at the BAFTA Television Awards for his role in Disney+'s Rivals.

Their appearance at the BAFTA Scotland event demonstrates their resilience, choosing to celebrate Scottish talent and culture even while dealing with serious personal threats to their safety and wellbeing.
