Secret Lives of Mormon Wives Star Chase McWhorter Admits to DUI and Cocaine Charges
Reality Star Breaks Silence on July DUI and Drug Arrest

Chase McWhorter, a personality from the Hulu reality series Secret Lives of Mormon Wives, has publicly addressed his arrest in July for driving under the influence and possessing cocaine. The 30-year-old father of two broke his silence via a candid TikTok video, days after reports of the incident surfaced in the press.

A Candid Confession on Social Media

In the video posted on Thursday, McWhorter took full responsibility for his actions on July 4th. He confirmed that reports of his arrest were true, stating he was pulled over for DUI after ingesting substances he "shouldn't have" and making the decision to drive. He described his choice as "extremely shortsighted, selfish, and dangerous," and thanked the police officer involved for preventing a potentially worse outcome.

McWhorter explained he had left a friend's pool party after a fight broke out. "I should have Ubered, but for some reason, decided to drive home, and that decision alone kills people every single day," he stressed, acknowledging the severity of his actions. He called the experience a "humiliating low" and was quick to clarify that his poor judgement was not a reflection on his family or friends.

The Details of the July Arrest

According to a police report obtained by The Sun, officers in Utah observed McWhorter's vehicle drifting out of its lane and nearly hitting a curb on Independence Day. Upon pulling over his Tesla, police noted signs of impairment including the smell of alcohol, bloodshot eyes, and slurred speech. A search of the vehicle allegedly uncovered a powder that field-tested positive for cocaine and fentanyl. McWhorter reportedly admitted to drinking at a bar and using cocaine before driving.

He was subsequently charged with three misdemeanours: driving under the influence, driving on a suspended or revoked license, and possession of a controlled substance. It was reported that he missed his initial court hearing, leading to a warrant for his arrest with a $2,500 bail. The warrant was later withdrawn after he entered a not guilty plea on November 5th.

Support and Levity from His Circle

Following his TikTok confession, several figures from his social circle and the Hulu show offered supportive comments. His ex-wife Miranda, with whom he shares two young children, joked in the comments, "I just know you were punching the air when they read you your 'Miranda Rights.'" Others, including castmate Zac Affleck, praised his accountability while teasing him for the lack of a public mugshot.

Despite his public admission of guilt, McWhorter's lawyer has stated that his client is "presumed to be innocent" and that he will be vigorously represented in court. The reality star, who appeared on the last two seasons of the hit series, became a public figure following a 'soft swinging' scandal within a Utah social circle that ultimately led to the creation of the Hulu show.
