Grammy-winning rapper Cardi B has declared she has been pushed to her limit, citing more than a year of intense harassment that she claims has now escalated to the point where she fears for her life.
The Triggering Incident
The situation reportedly intensified after her estranged husband, Offset, posted and then quickly deleted a cryptic message on social media. The post, which read "My kid lol," was widely interpreted as a reference to Cardi B's newborn son with her new partner, NFL star Stefon Diggs.
This online comment sparked speculation due to a specific Georgia state law. The statute automatically presumes that a woman's husband is the legal father of any child born during the marriage, even if the couple is legally separated. Cardi B, whose legal name is Belcalis Almánzar, and Offset were still married when she gave birth.
A Plea for Safety and Privacy
Expressing her distress, Cardi B took to a since-deleted tweet, writing: "Y'all be thinking it's so funny and it's not.. it's been over a year and I'm still being harassed and threatened to the point that I feel like my life in danger.. it's all fun and games until it's too late."
She followed with a furious plea: "Mf'ers do anything for attention and it could get real nasty with just one upload… LEAVE ME TF ALONE." The artist, who boasts a colossal 286.5 million social media followers, further elaborated on X Spaces, alleging that private harassment escalates to public attacks when she ignores it.
"I have every single receipt. If you wanna keep sending f***ing blogs to harass me, like, I can't take it anymore," she stated, revealing the psychological toll. "Sometimes I sleep and I wonder, 'This is not normal.' You see crime documentaries...You see s*** on social media about women getting killed every other day."
Navigating Legal and Personal Challenges
Despite the legal presumption of paternity in Georgia, reports indicate that Cardi B and the 31-year-old New England Patriots wide receiver, Stefon Diggs, could petition the court to establish paternity through a DNA test, thereby resolving the child's legal status.
This personal turmoil comes amidst a major life transition for the star. Cardi B and Offset, who share three children—daughter Kulture, 7; son Wave, 4; and daughter Blossom, 14 months—finalised their divorce in 2024 after six years of marriage.
Last week, Cardi B confirmed the birth of her fourth child, a baby boy, revealing that Stefon Diggs was by her side. In an Instagram post, she framed this period as a new chapter, writing: "My life has always been a combination of different chapters and different seasons... This next chapter is Me vs. Me!"
Professionally, the artist is preparing for her 35-date 'Little Miss Drama Tour', kicking off on February 11 in Palm Desert, California. Her second studio album, Am I the Drama?, is currently on the Billboard 200 chart, and she is nominated for a best rap performance Grammy.
