Tom Jones cancels remaining US tour dates after flu

Sir Tom Jones has apologised to fans as he postpones the final five shows of his Come Gather Round tour in the United States, following medical advice after contracting a bad case of the flu.

The 86-year-old Welsh singer had already postponed two shows on Monday, October 26, and a further one on Thursday, October 29, after completing 20 performances. He has now announced that the remaining dates will not go ahead as planned.

Postponed Shows and Next Scheduled Date

Following advice from his doctor, Sir Tom has postponed his next two shows on October 31 and November 1 until further notice. If he is able to return to the stage next week, his next tour date is Tuesday, November 3, in San Diego. That gig was originally scheduled for Monday, October 26, before the singer fell ill.

In an Instagram post, Sir Tom said: "I'm really sorry, but following further advice from my doctor, my next two shows on October 31st at Hard Rock Live Sacramento, CA and November 1st at The Masonic, San Francisco, CA will need to be postponed until further notice."

Statement to Fans

He added: "I know this will be disappointing for those of you who were planning to attend, and I thank you for your continued support and understanding! Further updates regarding the postponed dates will be shared as soon as possible."

Sir Tom also confirmed that "tickets for the original dates will remain valid, however, should customers wish to do so, they can also contact their original point of purchase for a full refund."
