The Killers' 'Best Album' Coming in 2027, Says Brandon Flowers
The Killers' 'Best Album' Arrives in 2027

Fans of The Killers have been given a major update on new music from the iconic rock band, but they will need to arm themselves with patience. Frontman Brandon Flowers has confirmed that a new Killers album is in the works, promising it will be their finest work to date. However, the release is slated for 2027, marking a significant wait for devoted listeners.

A Solo Detour Before the Big Return

Speaking to The Sun, Flowers explained the extended timeline, revealing that his focus is currently on completing not one, but two solo albums. "I have two records complete. One is almost mixed. The other will follow shortly," he stated, noting the logistical challenge of planning the releases. He described the solo work, recorded in Nashville, as a creative "departure" intended to keep things fresh for the band's audience.

The delay also follows a period of intense activity for the Las Vegas group. After finally touring their 2020 album Imploding The Mirage with over 90 shows in 2022, they played a further 65 gigs in 2023. The following year, 2024, was dedicated to celebrating the 20th anniversary of their seminal debut, Hot Fuss, with a Las Vegas residency and the release of a greatest hits compilation, Rebel Diamonds.

Returning to Rock 'n' Roll Roots

Despite the break from recording as a full band, Flowers assured that new material has been in development. "My best guess is that in 2027 you will get the best Killers record," he confidently predicted. He also shed light on the sonic direction, confirming the band has moved away from the synth-pop explorations of recent years and is returning to its rock 'n' roll foundation.

"I did not want to commit to a whole synth-pop record... we are now making a rock 'n' roll album," Flowers explained, acknowledging the changed landscape of rock radio since the band's inception two decades ago.

Charity Performance and Looking Ahead

Earlier this month, Brandon Flowers made a surprise appearance at 'A Concert for Altadena', organised by the band Dawes to raise funds for victims of the previous year's Eaton Fire. He took to the stage to perform The Killers' classic anthem When You Were Young and joined the ensemble for a rendition of Bruce Springsteen's The Promised Land.

While the wait for the next chapter of The Killers' story will be a long one, Brandon Flowers' clear vision and commitment to both his solo artistry and the band's legacy suggest that the 2027 album could indeed be a landmark release for one of the century's most defining rock acts.
