Ronnie Wood joined the Hollywood Vampires on stage at London's O2 Arena as the supergroup launched their first UK tour in over three years, with Johnny Depp returning to the UK.
Surprise Guest and Tribute
The Rolling Stones guitarist appeared as a surprise guest during the band's performance on August 12. The set included a tribute to Jeff Beck, with Depp inviting Beck's wife Sandra along. "Johnny wanted to do a tribute to Jeff and invited his wife Sandra along. The last song was for him and his family," said a source.
Before taking the stage, insiders said Alice Cooper was throwing knives at the wall, while Depp was layering scarves and jewellery to wear on stage.
Tributes and Tour Dates
The band also paid tribute to late musicians including Tom Petty, David Bowie and Ozzy Osbourne, who received the biggest applause of the night.
After London, the band will appear at Cardiff Castle, Scarborough Open Air Theatre, Glasgow's OVO Hydro, Manchester's AO Arena, Birmingham's Utilita Arena, Colchester Castle and Halifax's Piece Hall, before heading across Europe.
Band's History and Future
The Hollywood Vampires have not toured since playing in New York in July 2023, with their last performance at the Woodstock site in Bethel. The group was formed in the 1970s by Cooper as a celebrity drinking club that included John Lennon, Keith Moon and Micky Dolenz.
Speaking to Classic Rock, Cooper said there will be another album "when we can get Depp out of his 44-room castle." Guitarist Joe added: "I can tell you that some people in his camp are not happy he's taking a couple of months out to play music. But when it's time for Johnny to play guitar, he knows it's time."
