Sir Rod Stewart has shared his final wishes, expressing a desire to be buried in the garden of his home next to the grave of his late dog, Bubbles. The 80-year-old rocker made the revelation during an interview for the BBC programme My Life At Christmas with Anita Rani, which is set to air on December 7.
Speaking alongside his wife, Penny Lancaster, 54, Stewart acknowledged the difficulty of discussing end-of-life plans but noted, 'You don't want to talk about the end but he's like, Look it happens to all of us.' Lancaster added, 'Maybe we'll have a family cemetery, then it has to be in the deed of the property - you buy the property, you have to maintain the cemetery of the Stewarts!'
The couple, married for over 25 years, also reflected on their friendship with Sir Elton John. Stewart recounted a memorable gift exchange, revealing he once gave John a champagne fridge disguised as furniture. In return, John presented him with a Rembrandt etching, which Stewart described as 'very special' and now hangs near the cinema room in Beverly Hills.
The episode promises an intimate look at the couple's life, including their Christmas traditions, Stewart's rise to fame, and Lancaster's transition from model to special constable. It airs on BBC One at 10.30am on December 7.
