Queen's 'Don't Stop Me Now' has been named the nation's favourite morning song, with ABBA's 'Dancing Queen' and Katrina and The Waves' 'Walking on Sunshine' following closely behind. The list was compiled by DJ Spoony, who has rebranded as DJ TeaSpoony for a limited period to celebrate the launch of a Summer breakfast club with Nutella.
DJ Spoony's Breakfast Rebrand
The radio DJ, real name Johnathon Joseph, has partnered with Nutella to show the UK how to give their breakfast the VIP treatment. DJ TeaSpoony has put together a ready-made soundtrack designed to bring energy and transform mornings into feel-good family moments.
The partnership follows research that found 68% of people consider themselves self-professed 'morning people'. Signs of being a morning person include opening windows for fresh air, always making the bed, enjoying the sound of bird song, and flinging back the curtains immediately upon waking.
Night Owls and Morning Mood Music
In contrast, night owls want an hour of peace as soon as they wake up, with 50% saying they need at least an hour of quiet first thing in the morning. DJ TeaSpoony said: "Summer mornings are all about slowing down and making the most of that precious time over breakfast. In our house, music has always played a massive part in our morning routine. Taking some time to try some tasty new recipes, together with some great tunes to set the vibe, it's the perfect way to start the day."

Other songs that elevate morning mood include 'Here Comes The Sun' by The Beatles, 'I Wanna Dance with Somebody' by Whitney Houston, and 'Mr Brightside' by The Killers. One of DJ TeaSpoony's favourites from his Breakfast Club Playlist, Fleetwood Mac's 'Everywhere', also made the cut, coming in at number 10.
