A queue was forced to close at Creamfields on Saturday as iconic 90s DJ Pete Tong took to the stage for a “secret set”. Massive names from across the dance music world have flown in for the legendary festival in Daresbury.
Secret set revealed
Earlier this year, organisers hinted at some “secret” performances. This evening, a DJ marked as 'secret set' on the Creamfields app was scheduled to perform on the Bossmans by ZYN stage at 7pm. The unique venue looks like a corner shop, and festivalgoers can enter by stepping through a secret entrance through fridge doors.
Hundreds of fans joined the queue outside the Bossmans stage before 7pm, as they waited patiently to find out who it could be. It was Ibiza legend Pete Tong who gave the surprise performance.
Queue closed and festival details
The queue for the secret stage within the corner shop style venue was closed shortly after 7pm. Stewards then staggered the amount of fans entering to see Pete Tong. Tong's secret set at 7pm came after his original set on the Steel Stage from 4pm until 5.30pm.
The world-famous DJ has a career stretching back over four decades as a broadcaster, clubland DJ and music industry tastemaker, with his emphasis always firmly focused on people having fun. It isn't the DJ's first time performing in the North West, as he's made a name for himself with regular performances at Haydock Racecourse as well as an appearance at Aintree earlier this year after the Grand National.
Festival schedule and attractions
Creamfields festival started on Thursday, August 27 and will finish tomorrow, on Sunday, August 30. Its line-up of more than 250 acts includes familiar names like Sonny Fodera, Morgan Seatree and many more. Over 80,000 music fans are expected to attend throughout the four days, with DJs including Calvin Harris, Martin Garrix, MK and CamelPhat treating attendees to some incredible performances.
The festival also features a wide array of entertainment on-site. Following last year’s launch, Downtown has returned in 2026, featuring everything from an on-site gym and five-a-side football to wellness classes, pampering, and special secret sets.
