Girls Aloud star Nadine Coyle is set to headline a free gig in Edinburgh this month as part of the Christmas Light Night concert in Princes Street Gardens.
The 41-year-old will perform at LNER's free show at the Ross Bandstand in the capital on Sunday, November 22, with organisers confirming she will sing some of the girl band's biggest tracks, including The Promise, Sound of the Underground, and Love Machine.
Festive line-up and attractions
Edinburgh's Christmas, with Halo organisers Unique Assembly, confirmed the show will be packed with chart-topping pop music and festive sparkle. The free event also includes a festive sing-a-long of Christmas classics and a visit from Santa himself, all underneath the backdrop of Edinburgh Castle.
Additionally, the evening will feature performances from the cast of Back to the Future at the Edinburgh Playhouse, La Clique Noël, Phoenix Choir, Insane Magic and more.
Event details and partnership
Light Night with LNER is set to kick off at 3pm on Sunday, November 22, and is a free event that everyone can attend.
Stuart Thomas, communications director at LNER, said: "Every year, LNER connects millions of people from across the UK with all that Edinburgh has to offer, including its spectacular Christmas and Hogmanay. That's why we're thrilled to be expanding our partnership with Edinburgh's Christmas and cannot wait to bring festive cheer to the thousands of people joining us onboard the LNER Big Wheel or at Light Night with LNER."
Charitable fundraising goal
The new collaboration between Light Night and LNER aims to bring festive cheer to the capital, offering free community events and supporting charitable fundraising throughout the seven-week Edinburgh Winter Festivals.
A fundraising target of £75,000 has been set to benefit five official local charities: One City Trust, When you Wish Upon A Star, My Name'5 Doddie, CALM and Street Assist Edinburgh.
Coyle, who is a member of the iconic Brits girl band Girls Aloud, last played in Scotland with Cheryl Cole, Nicola Roberts and Kimberly Walsh on their Girls Aloud reunion tour in 2024, when the band performed in Glasgow and Aberdeen. The group rose to fame in 2002 after forming on the ITV reality talent show Popstars: The Rivals, going on to become one of the most successful British pop groups of the 21st century. As a solo artist, Nadine has released one full studio album and an extended play (EP).
