Country singer Megan Moroney ended her concert early after performing just three songs at the Ball Arena in Denver, Colorado. The 28-year-old burst into tears mid-performance and told fans she had to stop due to sickness.
Moroney had opened her set on The Cloud 9 Tour with Stupid, Medicine and Bless Your Heart before making the sudden decision to cancel the remainder of the show. Her voice cracked as she addressed the audience.
“I am obviously extremely sick, and I thought I did everything to make myself better, and obviously, two songs in, I just can't play this show tonight,” she said in footage shared on social media. “I want to give you guys the show you deserve; I'm probably going to go cry in my dressing room now,” she added before bursting into tears and saying, “I'm sorry.”
Fan support and rescheduled date
Moroney received immediate support from fans online. One wrote, “OMG her crying makes me wanna cry I love her so much.” Another said, “She went out there and tried to perform even though she was sick for her fans. We don't deserve her.” A third commented, “I [don't know] who this is, but the courage to get on stage and make this announcement is incredible.”
Later, Moroney posted an update to her 2.6 million followers, announcing a rescheduled date. “Denver - That was the hardest decision I've ever had to make & I'm so sorry to cancel the show tonight,” she wrote. “I never ever will give you guys a show that is not 100% and by song 3 I knew that I was not capable of giving that to you tonight. I'm typing this as I'm quite literally bawling my eyes out in my dressing room & it hurts me so much to disappoint you all.
“I will be back August 27, and all tickets purchased for tonight's show will be honoured for the new date. If you can't make the rescheduled date refunds are available at the point of purchase. I've never had to do this & I'm truly so sorry. I love u guys. Megan.”
Upcoming tour dates
Moroney is scheduled to perform at Oregon's Moda Centre in Portland on August 1, with the tour set to conclude in Belfast on October 1.

Moroney's cancellation comes after Reverend and The Makers frontman Jon McClure revealed he had been hospitalised following a “daft” scooter accident. In an Instagram post, he said he was waiting to see if he had a cracked rib and felt “stupid and embarrassed.” He continued performing, including a show-stopping set at Tramlines Festival in Sheffield.
