Lockwood & Co has been voted the axed Netflix series that readers most want to see return, according to a Mirror poll of more than 317 votes.
The supernatural detective thriller took 61% of the vote, far ahead of The Boroughs at 17%, 1899 at 10%, Kaos at 7%, and The Abandons at 5%.
Why Lockwood & Co won
The show first aired in January 2023 and is based on the book series by Jonathan Stroud. It stars Bridgerton's Ruby Stokes as Lucy Carlyle and follows a group of teenage ghost-hunting agents in an alternate version of present-day Britain where ghosts, known as visitors, rise from their graves.
Cameron Chapman plays Anthony Lockwood, the agency's proprietor, with Ali Hadji-Heshmati as George Karim, Lockwood's friend and head of research.
Cliffhanger ending
The series was axed four months after release, leaving viewers on a major cliffhanger. In the final episode, Anthony promises Lucy and George he will open the mysterious, forbidden room in their house and share the truth about his past. The screen fades to black as he opens the door.
The poll was prompted by Netflix's rare decision to reverse its cancellation of Beauty in Black, which will now return for a fourth season despite earlier reports it would end after season three.
Fan reaction
One IMDb reviewer wrote: "I already recommended it to my sister before finding out it was cancelled. I can almost guarantee she would recommend it to at least six others and after I play it for my teenagers, I can say that all of their friends will be watching it within the week. I hope Netflix or another network picks it up for a second season. If any show deserves one, it's Lockwood and Co. It's the most captivating thing I've watched since Sweet Tooth."
