Liam Gallagher has bluntly dismissed speculation that Oasis will headline Glastonbury in 2027, telling fans to calm down in a typically forthright social media post. The 53-year-old frontman was responding to a fan account that noted the reunited Britpop band were among the bookmakers' favourites to headline the festival when it returns after a year off.
When a fan highlighted Oasis' short odds and asked whether they could return to the Pyramid Stage, Liam replied: "It's not HAPPENING so all you croc wearing flag waving s*** c**** can calm the f*** down." The rejection follows months of intense speculation about the band returning to the stage.
Mixed messages from Liam Gallagher
However, fans have accused Liam of sending mixed messages after he mentioned playing Worthy Farm again just hours later, this time claiming he had dreamt about the iconic stage. He tweeted: "I had a dream we was playing at Glastonbury and the croc brigade stormed the stage and started whipping me to death with there flags took me ages to get settled NIGHTMARE."
Despite the denial, fans are still expecting the Gallagher brothers to make a major announcement about their future. Reports have claimed Oasis are planning a huge run of shows in 2027, including a potential 12-night residency at Manchester City's Etihad Stadium and a return to Knebworth.
Etihad Stadium rumours persist
Liam has previously appeared to play along with the Etihad rumours, replying to a fan who asked about reports of 12 shows: "12 I thought it was 10 ffs." That has left fans wondering whether his Glastonbury dismissal really means Oasis are finished with festivals or simply have much bigger plans elsewhere.
Glastonbury organiser Emily Eavis has already confirmed that the festival's three 2027 headliners have been booked, although she has refused to reveal their identities. She has also ruled out Madonna, who had been heavily tipped after hinting at a major UK project next year. Oasis last headlined Glastonbury in 2004.
