Jesy Nelson's New Prime Video Series Launch Date Revealed After Twins' Diagnosis
Jesy Nelson reveals series launch after twins' diagnosis

Former Little Mix star Jesy Nelson has announced the launch date for her highly anticipated new documentary series on Prime Video, just days after publicly sharing the devastating medical diagnosis received by her infant twin daughters.

New Series Chronicles Life After Girl Band Fame

Jesy Nelson: Life After Little Mix is scheduled to premiere on Prime Video UK on 13th February. The series promises an intimate look at the singer's world since she became the first member to depart the globally successful girl group. Her former bandmates – Leigh-Anne Pinnock, Perrie Edwards, and Jade Thirlwall – have all since embarked on their own solo ventures.

Nelson shared the news directly with her fans on social media, posting: "Jesy Nelson: Life After Little Mix coming to @primevideouk on 13th February." The announcement arrives at a profoundly personal and challenging time for the singer and her partner, Zion Foster.

Heartbreaking Diagnosis for Twins Ocean and Story

The revelation about the series follows Nelson's emotional disclosure that her twin daughters, Ocean Jade and Story Monroe, have been diagnosed with a rare genetic condition. The babies have spinal muscular atrophy (SMA), a disorder that affects motor nerve cells and severely impacts muscle strength and movement.

Speaking candidly about the prognosis, Nelson explained that specialists at Great Ormond Street Hospital delivered the shattering news that her daughters may never walk and could struggle to regain neck strength. "We were told that they will probably never be able to walk," she said. "They probably will never regain their neck strength, so they will be disabled. So the best thing we can do right now is get them treatment and just hope for the best."

A Mother's Grief and Resilience

Nelson described the last few months as "the most heartbreaking time of my life," stating she feels her world has "done a 360." She expressed a sense of grieving for the future she had imagined for her children. "I'm grieving a life I thought I was going to have with my children," she admitted.

Despite the anguish, the singer's resolve remains strong. "I truly believe that my girls will defy all odds," she asserted. "And with the right help, they will fight this, and go on to do things that have never been done."

In a separate interview on This Morning, Nelson revealed a layer of frustration, recalling that she had noticed early signs in her premature twins—such as a distinctive "frog leg" position and unusual belly shape—before knowing about SMA. "That's what [is] frustrating," she shared. "For me, if these were the cards I was always going to be dealt and there was nothing I could do about it, it would be easier for me to accept."

She emphasised the rapid shift in her role, feeling she has "had to become a nurse in the space of two weeks" to care for her daughters' complex needs. As she prepares to share her post-Little Mix journey with the world via her Prime Video series, Jesy Nelson is simultaneously navigating an intensely private battle, showcasing remarkable strength in the face of immense personal adversity.
