Country music star Garth Brooks has announced a 10-date tour across the island of Ireland next year. The American performer will play gigs in Cork, Limerick, Kilkenny, Galway and Belfast.
History with Irish audiences
Brooks has had a tumultuous history with performing in Ireland. He was due to play five concerts in 2014, but the gigs were cancelled following a licensing dispute with locals around the venue and the local authorities.
Dublin City Council said at the time that it would only grant licences for three of the concerts at the Dublin venue, but the singer refused to perform unless all five went ahead. The country performer returned years later to play five concerts at the home of GAA over the course of nine days in 2022.
Plans for the 2027 tour
On the new 2027 tour, Brooks said: "This has been a dream of mine since the first time we played Ireland. Once you get a taste of how the Irish love music, you can't play there enough!"
Tickets go on sale next Thursday.
