Dolly Parton has cancelled her Las Vegas residency at Caesar's Palace due to ongoing health problems. The 80-year-old singer had rescheduled six shows from December 2025 to September 2026, but has now confirmed she will not be able to perform.
In an Instagram video, Parton said she is 'responding really well to meds and treatments' and is 'improving every day', but needs more time to reach 'stage-performance level'. She explained that the medication makes her 'swimmy-headed' and she cannot be 'dizzy carrying around banjos, guitars and such on 5in heels'.
Parton reassured fans that she is still working on other projects, including videos, visits to Dollywood, and plans to open her museum and hotel in Nashville later this year, as well as a Broadway musical. She said: 'I have great doctors and I'm doing really well and they assure me that everything I have is treatable.'
The star also addressed previous health rumours, having withdrawn from the Academy's Governors Awards in November 2025 where she was to receive the Jean Hersholt humanitarian award. She has previously discussed kidney stones, which she mentioned again in her latest video.
Parton's husband of nearly 60 years, Carl Thomas Dean, died at age 82 last year. She made a public appearance in March 2026 at Dollywood and was named the most favourable global figure in a YouGov poll in April, ahead of Barack Obama and Volodymyr Zelenskyy.
