American YouTuber Tastes Entire Greggs Menu, Declares Vegan Bake 'Shockingly Good'
American Tries All Greggs Items, Praises Vegan Bake

An American content creator has undertaken the monumental task of sampling every single item available on the Greggs menu, delivering his comprehensive verdict on the beloved British bakery chain. Keith Habersberger, a member of the popular YouTube ensemble The Try Guys, embarked on this culinary challenge, tasting everything from the breakfast offerings right through to the sweet desserts.

The Greggs Experience: A Pleasant Surprise

In a detailed video review, Habersberger revealed that he had been forewarned that Greggs might not represent the best fast food available, but rather the fast food British people deserve. Despite this tempered expectation, he described his overall experience as a really fun time, expressing genuine surprise at the quality of numerous dishes he encountered.

Standout Items That Won Praise

The vegan lattice emerged as the undisputed star of the show, catching the American taster completely off guard. The pastry is flaky, buttery and delicious and honestly the filling tastes great, Keith remarked enthusiastically. He elaborated, noting its savory, hearty character that somewhat resembled beef, concluding it was simply delightful.

Equally impressive was the iconic sausage roll. Upon removing it from its bag, Habersberger noted it looked beautiful. After his first bite, he quipped: I'm sitting on top of the double-decker bus, life is good. He acknowledged the sausage might be too tender and very heavy, prompting immediate thoughts of heartburn, but conceded: damn it's good.

Additional Highlights from the Menu

Summarising his adventure, Keith confirmed he really enjoyed his Greggs journey. Obviously the sausage roll was delicious, and I found the vegan bake to be shockingly good, he stated. He was also notably impressed by the all-day breakfast baguette and the sausage baguette served with HP Sauce. Furthermore, he singled out Greggs' espresso as the best of the fast food places he has tried.

The chicken goujons received high praise, described as really good, with his wife Becky drawing a favourable comparison to the American fast-food chain Wendy's. Keith appreciated the baked-fry style breading and the slight spiciness, declaring them a really good chicken tender. The potato wedges were also a hit, with the pair loving their creamy interior.

The Less Successful Offerings

Not every item met with the same level of acclaim. Keith was less impressed with Greggs' pizza range, stating: I did think the pizzas were the least best. He identified the Hot Shot pizza as the least bad of the options, crediting its more savory flavour for helping to counteract what he perceived as an underlying sweetness common to all the pizzas.

A Brief History of Greggs

Founded by John Gregg in Newcastle back in 1939, the bakery chain opened its first shop on Gosford High Street in 1951. From these humble beginnings, Greggs has grown into a national institution. Today, it operates a vast network of more than 2,600 outlets across the UK. The chain's popularity is underscored by its staggering sales figures, moving over 2.5 million sausage rolls every week, which accumulates to approximately 140 million enjoyed by Brits each and every year.
