People urged to check old Nintendo DS games as Pokemon titles fetch £445 on eBay

Gamers are being urged to rummage through their old storage boxes and dust off their vintage Nintendo DS games, as some titles are now selling for hundreds of pounds. According to Price Charting, Pokemon games are the most valuable Nintendo DS titles, followed by Super Mario games, with certain Pokemon games fetching up to £445 on eBay ahead of Christmas.

Many people are unaware their old games could fetch such high prices, leading some to give them away for nothing. One Reddit user recounted how their mother threw away their Pokemon Platinum copy they had kept for 16 years, saying 'adults don't need that stuff'. The user shared a screenshot showing the game selling on eBay for between £95 and £445, depending on condition.

Another Reddit user described how their mother gave their younger cousin several GameCube games, including Pokemon Colosseum, Gale of Darkness, Wind Waker and Ultimate Spider-Man, because she thought they were not played as much. A third user lamented losing a complete video game collection from the NES to the Wii, plus a Pokemon card collection including a shadowless mint Charizard, after moving out of state.
