Microsoft has confirmed a price increase for Xbox Game Pass in the UK, with new tiers launching in October. The Essential tier now costs £6.99 per month, Premium is £10.99, and Ultimate has risen to £22.99, representing an increase of up to 50% for some plans.
New subscribers are subject to the higher prices immediately, while existing customers will see the change from 4th November in the UK and US. However, the increase has been indefinitely delayed in several European countries, including Germany, Ireland, South Korea, Poland, and India.
The rebranded tiers replace the previous Core and standard options. Essential offers no day-one releases, Premium also lacks day-one access, and Ultimate remains the top-tier option with full benefits.
The price hike has sparked backlash from gamers, leading Microsoft to delay implementation for existing subscribers in some regions. The changes are part of a broader restructuring of the subscription service.
