CD Projekt’s remaster of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt launches this week, on Tuesday, September 29, 2026, across PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, Nintendo Switch 2, and PC. In the UK, it will launch at 11am BST.

Regional launch times for the remaster are as follows: UK – 11pm BST, Europe – 12pm CEST, US – 3am PDT, Australia – 8pm AEST, and Japan – 7pm JST.
The original game, which launched in 2015 and won multiple game of the year awards, is often cited as one of the greatest games ever made. Its reputation has grown through two acclaimed expansions, Hearts Of Stone and Blood & Wine. A new expansion, Songs Of The Past, is set for next year, leading into The Witcher 4 in 2028.
File Size and PC Requirements
According to CD Projekt, the remaster update on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC is roughly 45GB, on top of the base game. On PC, the total install will be around 95GB, though this may vary by system. On Switch 2, the update is about 50GB, as it is a separate eShop listing from the original Switch version.
The minimum PC requirements, based on the Battle.net store page, are: 64-bit Windows 11, Intel Core i5-8400 or AMD Ryzen 5 2600, NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1660 6GB or AMD Radeon RX 5500 XT 8GB or Intel Arc A580, 12GB memory, and 70GB SSD storage. Recommended specifications are: 64-bit Windows 11, Intel Core i7-8700K or AMD Ryzen 5 3600X, NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2060 SUPER or AMD Radeon RX 6600 XT or Intel Arc B580, 16GB memory, and 70GB SSD storage.
Improvements and Patch Notes
CD Projekt says the remaster includes upgraded visuals, combat, movement, mount handling, monster behaviours, new Witcher signs effects, a reworked skill tree, transmogrification, new finishers, and an expanded photo mode. However, some of these changes are not as significant as they sound, according to the review.

Anyone who already owns The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, Nintendo Switch, or PC can download the remaster for free, whether digital or physical. For owners on last-generation systems, the upgrade is only available if they also own the corresponding next-generation console; for example, PlayStation 4 owners can only upgrade on PlayStation 5.
