The Primals, the official band of Final Fantasy XIV, have hinted at a potential world tour following their successful performance at Download Festival. The band described the experience as exceeding all expectations and a stepping stone to larger rock and roll events.
Download Festival Success
The group, who are no strangers to festivals, performed at Download Festival after recent shows in Japan. Band members Koji and Soken expressed their amazement at the reception. Koji told the Mirror: "Feeling the love from all sides has been amazing." Soken added that growing up, he listened to the bands playing alongside them, calling it "completely unbelievable" to perform at the same festival.
Memorable Moments
Koji revealed that at Download, they experienced crowdsurfing for the first time at their gigs. "That was, for us, a first," he said, adding: "We're so proud, when the security came and took them down the line, we're like 'No, we love you man!'"
Gunn, another band member, noted that their recent UK visits have been special. "We've had several performances in London where we've played specifically to our player base," Soken said, describing London fans as "so hyped." Gunn also praised the food, saying: "The food has been amazing."
World Tour Tease
The band hinted that this could lead to a world tour. Soken teased: "But of course, there's only one thing… Rock 'n' Roll!" Koji added: "Yes, Rock 'n' Roll, of course, but I think using this as kind of a stepping stone. We've done a lot of fan events, this has really been our first non-fan event, it's a rock and roll event, maybe using this as a stepping stone into more rock and roll events, maybe a world tour, travelling to places we haven't been, spreading the music of Soken and Final Fantasy XIV and just rocking it."
Soken concluded: "Because we really do want to go and rock out with all the players and fans in the regions we've not had the opportunity to visit just yet, so world tour it is."
