'Hilarious' Comedy Series Ted with Stacked Cast Added to Netflix
Ted Comedy Series with Stacked Cast Now on Netflix

The first season of Seth MacFarlane's 'Ted' prequel series has been added to Netflix. The comedy, which critics have called 'hilarious,' boasts a stacked cast and is based on the 2012 film of the same name.

MacFarlane's Comedy Legacy

Seth MacFarlane, 52, began his career as an animator and writer for Hanna-Barbera, working on shows like 'Johnny Bravo,' 'Cow and Chicken,' and 'Dexter's Laboratory.' He later created 'Family Guy,' which premiered in 1999 and became an overnight hit despite two cancellations. His other animated series, 'American Dad!,' has also run for over two decades.

The Ted Prequel Series

After the success of the 'Ted' films—the first being the highest-grossing original R-rated comedy of all time—Peacock ordered a straight-to-series prequel in 2021. Neither Mark Wahlberg nor Mila Kunis returned, but MacFarlane reprised his role as the voice of Ted. The cast includes Max Burkholder, Alanna Ubach, Scott Grimes, and Giorgia Whigham.

Set between 1993 and 1994, the series follows Ted living with 16-year-old John Bennett and his family in Framingham, Massachusetts. In the pilot, Ted is forced to attend school with John after causing trouble while the family is away.

Critical Acclaim

The first season received glowing reviews, and the second season, released earlier in 2026, holds a rare 100% score on Rotten Tomatoes. Critics have called it a must-watch. The first season is now available on Netflix, with the second season expected to follow.
