Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer: The Drone Light Show is set to make its UK debut at Aintree Racecourse on Saturday, December 19, 2026. The production, presented by Immersive Drone Light Shows, will use hundreds of synchronised LED drones to bring the festive character's story to life on an enormous scale, with illuminated characters and festive scenes appearing high above the racecourse in December.
A new kind of Christmas spectacle
The show is part of Immersive Drone Light Shows' expanding programme of large-scale touring productions, which combines synchronised drone technology, precision flight choreography, immersive audio and storytelling to create entertainment in the sky. Rather than taking place on a traditional stage, the story will unfold across the night sky through precision drone choreography, cinematic sound, light and music, turning the sky itself into a vast moving canvas.
The experience offers large-scale aerial animations without the loud explosive bangs, smoke or falling debris associated with fireworks, making it ideal for audiences looking for a different kind of outdoor evening experience. The production has been created as a Christmas experience for families and those of all ages and is said to "combine the familiarity of Rudolph's story with the scale and visual impact of hundreds of illuminated drones moving together above the audience".
Event details and tickets
From 2pm to 7pm, fairground rides, face painting and food stalls will also be available at the venue, with the drone show lasting 25-30 minutes. The drone show itself is scheduled for approximately 4:45 PM to 5:00 PM. Children under three go free.
Tickets are available from the official Rudolph drone light show website. Early Bird tickets have already sold out, with later ticket releases currently available. Tickets are non-refundable in the case of rescheduling due to weather. Contingency dates will be Monday 21st December, Tuesday 22nd December or Wednesday 23rd December, and ticket holders will be contacted via SMS and email with updates.
Immersive Drone Light Shows is also bringing the production to Carlisle Racecourse in Cumbria on Saturday, November 14, 2026.
