A cat named Daisy has become an internet sensation after markings on her fur were found to bear an uncanny resemblance to legendary film director Alfred Hitchcock. The image, posted on Twitter by owner Sam Horowitz, an accountant from Brooklyn, New York, quickly went viral, garnering over 150,000 likes.
The markings on Daisy's side appear to show the distinctive jowls and long nose of Hitchcock, who was famous for his cameo appearances in his own films. From peering out from a photograph in Dial M For Murder to winding a clock in Rear Window, Hitchcock's cameos became increasingly inventive over the years.
Observers were quick to note the resemblance, with many commenting on the feline's unexpected tribute to the master of suspense. The director also used his silhouette in the opening titles of his television series Hitchcock Presents.
As for Daisy, after her moment of internet fame, she likely returned to more typical cat activities, perhaps even playing with the birds—a nod to Hitchcock's classic film The Birds.
