PS Plus Faces Tough May Battle After Xbox Game Pass Reveal

Microsoft has dealt a significant blow to Sony's PlayStation Plus service by announcing a packed line-up of titles for Xbox Game Pass in May. The highlight is the addition of Forza Horizon 6 on May 19, but the list also includes several day-one releases and highly anticipated games.

Among the new arrivals are Ben 10 Power Trip, Descenders Next, Wheel World, Wildgate, and Wuchang: Fallen Feathers, which joined the service on May 1. On May 7, the narrative adventure Mixtape arrives as a day-one release, set in the 1990s with a nostalgic soundtrack. Another day-one title, Outbound, follows on May 11, while Black Jacket, Call of the Elder Gods, and Elite Dangerous arrive on May 12.

Doom: The Dark Ages, a frantic first-person shooter, will be available on Xbox Game Pass Premium from May 14. The same day sees the early access release of Subnautica 2, a co-op underwater survival adventure, which has generated significant buzz on Steam Wishlists.

With Sony set to announce the PlayStation Plus Extra line-up on May 13, the pressure is on to match Microsoft's offerings. The sheer volume and quality of Game Pass titles this month make it a tough challenge for PS Plus to compete.
