PlayStation Plus subscribers are counting down to the release of the headliner Extra and Premium games for September 2026. Sony announced the Extra and Premium games on the PlayStation Blog last week. The announcement coincided with the release of Date Everything, described as an “exciting new twist on the dating simulator genre”.
September 15 launch lineup
The vast majority of the PS Plus Extra and Premium games will launch in the next few weeks, including the highest-profile titles, beginning on September 15. Indeed, WWE 2K26 and RuneScape Dragonwilds will be added to the Extra Games Catalog at 9am BST UK time on September 15, alongside retro Premium titles Metro Redux and Mega Man X Command Mission.
More games arriving later in September
More releases will follow at 9am BST on the morning of September 22, as Ball X Pit and Slitterhead join PS Plus Extra. Ball X Pit could almost be described as a rogue-like version of Breakout, where the aim is to defeat hordes of monsters by firing magic-infused projectiles. It also shares similarities with games like Vampire Survivors, with players choosing upgrades and new projectiles each time they level up. Beyond the action in the pit, players must build up their settlements, harvesting resources to build new structures that will provide a leg up in battle.
A further three games will join the PS Plus Extra Games Catalog on the morning of September 29, including action-packed 2D platformer Ninja Gaiden Ragebound. Ninja Gaiden will be joined by Sniper Elite Resistance, as well as entertaining action-adventure game Dungeons of Hinterberg. The game features a fun mix of dungeon-crawling, puzzle solving and exploration, not to mention gorgeous visuals that really add to the experience.
Last chance to play leaving titles
“Whether you’re snowboarding down a glacier, climbing mountains, or taking in the lakeside scenery, there’s so much available to explore,” reads the official Dungeons of Hinterberg description. “Hinterberg’s dungeons are packed full of playful puzzles designed to surprise and challenge you. Get your thinking cap on and use every spell at your disposal to tackle each dungeon’s unique puzzling twist. Explore the world or conquer dungeons by day, then spend your evenings forging friendships with the locals and other adventurers in town.”
Of course, it's not all good news, because multiple titles will be leaving PS Plus on the same day. Be warned, this is your last chance to play heavy-hitters such as Madden NFL 26 and Persona 5 Tactica, as well as Romance of The Three Kingdoms XIII and Toukiden 2. Ten games will be leaving PS Plus Extra in total this month, including Bubsy: The Woolies Strike Back, Toy Story 2: Buzz Lightyear to the Rescue, Toy Story 3, Shadowrun Returns, Shadowrun Hong Kong: Extended Edition and Shadowrun Dragonfall: Director’s Cut.
