PlayStation Plus subscribers can look forward to a strong August 2025 lineup, with several games already confirmed for the service. The Essential tier games were announced on 29 July 2025 and became available from 5 August 2025. The full Extra and Premium catalogues will be revealed on 13 August 2025 and go live on 19 August 2025.
One of the standout titles confirmed for August is Sword of the Sea, a new atmospheric surfing adventure from the visionary artist behind ABZÛ, The Pathless, and Journey. The game features high-speed Hoversword movement inspired by skateboarding and snowboarding, allowing players to carve across sand and water.
In Sword of the Sea, players embark on an epic quest to restore a lost ocean, using the ancient Hoversword to build momentum and perform tricks such as flips, spins, and grabs. The game promises a balance of exhilarating action and fluid, meditative movement, with environments including halfpipes, ramps, and wall rides.
For those who want to catch up on recent additions, the July 2025 PS Plus games are still available. The August lineup is expected to include a mix of triple-A titles and indie games across all tiers, continuing the strong summer offering from PlayStation Plus.
