Princess Andre and her brother Junior treated their mum Katie Price to a camping trip in the latest episode of ITV's The Princess Diaries. During their outdoor adventure, the trio delved into the rocky relationship between their parents over the years.

Parents' History and Recent Truce

Katie and Peter first crossed paths in 2004 on I'm A Celebrity, tied the knot the following year, and had two children. Their marriage ended in divorce in 2009, and their relationship has been fraught with tension ever since. However, they have recently decided to bury the hatchet, a topic that came up during the show.

Gathered around a campfire, Princess remarked: "Obviously, so much has happened over the years, you and Dad have not been together. But now, you've both agreed to be civil."

Katie concurred, saying: "It's good, the past is in the past. The future is the future, I don't hold grudges on anyone, and it's such a nice feeling."

"It's about flipping time!" Princess declared, before quipping: "Whole of your life."

Differences in Upbringing

Elsewhere in the programme, Katie reflected on the contrast between herself and Princess, with the teenager suggesting it might be because she didn't live with her mum full-time. Describing her daughter as a 'clean-cut image', Princess agreed that's the image she wants to project, earning praise from her mum for how she's turned out.

Princess observed: "Do you know why I think I'm a bit more vain, in a way? Because I grew up always having to be conscious of doing the right thing."

Katie queried where that had originated from, revealing that she always allowed Princess to be herself while growing up. As the 19-year-old suggested it probably came from her dad's side, Katie concurred.

She commented: "Yeah, your dad is the same as you. He's quite conscious. You're more like a polished turd, and I wasn't a polished turd. I'm like a rebel, you're not a rebel. That defines it, you're very careful what road you take, and I'm very like, 'Yeah! Let's just do it!'"

Princess chimed in: "Yeah, I think if I had lived with you, full-time, I'd probably be like that."

While Katie carried on: "But I think that's good, you've got Emily and your dad, who are like, clean. Then you've got me where it's good chaos, just out there. But I'm so proud of you and what you're doing. You've just got to keep going."

The Princess Diaries are available to watch on ITVX.
